A young couple, Heros and Erika, whose relationship began when they met while visiting the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy, are the main characters of this novel. Their romance brought them to the United States where they experienced happiness in Florida. He was a banker and she was an artist and owner of an art gallery in Wynwood. One day Heros travelled for business while Erika stayed in Miami, and as she left the airport, coincidentally she met a stranger who assisted her with her broken car. Then a friendship developed between her and the stranger who later confessed to Erika that he was a priest. By then it was too late because both, Anthony and Erika, were involved in a turbulent passionate relationship.
The story flows back and forth in space-time from their youth in Italy to their college years and professional experiences. At the end the characters are witnesses of their own demise.
